Described as “the fine wine of improv”, New Tricks is the first over 50 improv troupe in New England, and probably one of only a handful in the known universe. We like to boast about our over 462 years (at least) of experience.
Our members range in age from 50 on up to 80+ proving that ‘old dogs’ can, indeed, learn new tricks. Our goals are to entertain and inspire our audiences, using our past experiences and everyday lives. We improvise comedy vignettes based on audience suggestions, play improv games, and present true-to-life monologues. We perform for groups large and small, including senior housing venues, conferences, fundraisers, libraries, private parties and other venues.
We love to entertain people of all ages, and enjoy challenging our audience’s beliefs and ideas about how people over fifty look, move and act. Let us entertain you!
The troupe was founded in 2003 by Mike Martin & Jeanne Hillson, and currently has 8 active members.
